QUALITY CONTROL

Describes techniques ensuring that high quality is maintained through various stages of a process. For example, quality control during image capture might include comparing the scanned image to the original and then adjusting colors or tonal values, or checking for artifacts.

QUERY

A request that specifies the manner in which data is to be extracted from one or more databases. In an imaging system or DM system, this is how you retrieve a document or imager Query the index database with a keyword or index field to find the requested image.

QUERY LANGUAGE

A pre-defined set of rules that let you properly retrieve information from a database. SQL (Structured query language) is a defacto standard in query language.

QUEUE

A stream of tasks waiting in line to be executed. A series of items lined up in a holding pattern in computer memory to await action by an operator or by the computer itself.
