Pennsylvania Department of State

A key aspect of the Governor’s campaign finance reform initiative was to make candidates’ financial reports available on the Internet as quickly as possible.

Campaign finance reports can be submitted electronically or in hard copy format. It is critical that hard copy materials be accurately captured and that data capture procedures conform to all the parameters surrounding finance report submissions.

The state needed a vendor who could capture the hard copy reports within 72 hours and without errors. This material is sensitive and the vendor needed to understand all the elements of campaign finance reports.

ILM Solution

ILM hit the ground running because of our 10-year relationship with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) and experience capturing financial reports of campaign contributions and expenditures. We were able to take our specialized skill sets and apply them to the project, correctly capturing tens of thousands of reports per filing period.

Results

The reports were captured in-house within the 72-hour time period with the required accuracy. Data was generated that conformed to all the special requirements contained in the campaign financial reports. The State Government Agency awarded ILM a one-year contract with two additional option years.
